self reliance for those who see the writing on the wall

Connect, Learn & Thrive: a Network of Like-Minded Aussie Families Who Share Your Values and Vision

Australia’s go-to destination for family-centred self-reliance, homesteading, and preparedness, from beginner basics to advanced projects.

Government Promises Don’t Guarantee Real Help When a Crisis Hits

  • Extreme weather events are becoming more frequent
  • Supply chain disruptions highlight the risks of reliance on others.
  • Community disconnection makes us more isolated than ever.
  • Health advice during CoVid19 has been proven to be false —who can we trust?
  • Digital ID and privacy concerns leave us asking: where is this leading?
  • We feel vulnerable when reliance on institutions proves unreliable.
  • Hidden media backing makes finding the truth harder than ever.
  • Aggressive Chinese tactics threaten our economic security and regional stability

Communities of Light seek to empower ordinary families to adapt, prepare, and thrive together, regardless of the uncertainties or challenges posed by local, national and global events.

Tom Denning

An intuitive man who has seen the slow decline of our country and has often warned others.

Tom and his wife Paula have worked for years to practise the principles of self-reliance by growing a large garden with vegetables, fruit trees, chickens, pigs and canning what they produced.

Along the way they have often taught others. Many have come to him, wanting to do the same. Now with a greater sense of urgency he has decided to network and grow.

Community is the best way to share and protect, so here we are. Welcome.
